Dr Carla McCardle graduated in Podiatry from the University of Ulster in 2009 and completed her PhD in 2015, investigating the effects of pH on infection status and microbial growth in diabetic foot ulcerations. Her doctoral research contributed to understanding of wound microbiology in diabetic foot disease. She brings both research depth and day-to-day clinical experience to the editorial board.
