More than 150 nominations, dozens of finalists and one evening of celebration. Here are some of our favourite moments from the Royal College of Podiatry Awards 2026.

The Royal College of Podiatry Awards 2026 brought together members, students, researchers, educators, volunteers and leaders from across the profession to celebrate excellence in podiatry.

Held at the Royal Institution, this year's event recognised achievements across clinical practice, education, research, leadership, volunteering and lifetime contribution to the profession.

From emotional acceptance speeches to reunions with colleagues and well-deserved celebrations, here are some of the moments that defined the evening.

And the winner is...

Research, innovation and leadership

The awards highlighted the breadth of modern podiatry practice and the diverse ways members contribute to patient care and professional development. Michael Backhouse (pictured), winner of the Research and Innovation Award for BigToe Inserts.

A night to remember

The evening concluded with celebrations for winners, finalists and everyone who helps advance the profession.

Final takeaway

(L to R) Professor Jane McAdam, Dr Jennifer Andrews and Sarah Bradshaw.

The Royal College of Podiatry Awards are about more than individual achievements. They are an opportunity to celebrate the collective contribution podiatrists make every day to patients, communities and healthcare systems.

Congratulations to all finalists, nominees and winners.
