What’s happened

Nominations have opened for the 2026 Chief Allied Health Professions Officer (CAHPO) Awards.

The annual awards celebrate the contribution allied health professionals make to patient care while recognising innovation, leadership, research and improvements in professional practice across the NHS.

The awards are open to all 14 allied health professions and welcome nominations from all professionals at all career stages, including students, apprentices and registered practitioners.

Award categories include:

  • AHP Leadership for Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion Award

  • AHP Research Impact Award

  • AHP Digital Practice Award

  • AHP Workforce Transformation Award

  • AHP Creative Provision of Placements Award

  • AHP Public Health Award

  • AHP Innovation and Improvement Award

  • Greener AHP Award

Why this matters to members

The CAHPO awards are one of the leading national awards programmes for allied health professionals.

Recognition through the awards helps highlight the contribution podiatrists make to patient outcomes, population health and reducing health inequalities.

The awards also help raise the profile of podiatry within the wider allied health professions workforce while showcasing examples of innovation, leadership and good practice across the profession.

What happens next

You can nominate yourself, another allied health professional or an AHP team.

Nominations must be submitted through an online application form and close at 11.59pm on Sunday 31 May.

Winners will be announced by NHS England in October 2026.
