Two Royal College of Podiatry representatives re-elected to key TUC roles
Diana Scott-Brown has been re-elected to the TUC Cymru General Council for a third consecutive term and will continue as Chair of the TUC Cymru Equalities Committee. Meanwhile, Royal College of Podiatry member Marie Laurent has been re-elected to the TUC Disabled Workers’ Committee for 2026–2027.

What’s happened
Diana Scott-Brown, one of the Royal College of Podiatry’s Employment Relations Officers, has been re-elected to the TUC Cymru General Council for a third consecutive two-year term.
She will also continue in her role as Chair of the TUC Cymru Equalities Committee.
Meanwhile, College member Marie Laurent was successfully re-elected to serve on the TUC Disabled Workers’ Committee for 2026–2027 following this week’s TUC Disabled Workers’ Conference.
The re-elections follow a week of activity for the College across both the TUC Cymru Conference and the TUC Disabled Workers’ Conference, where Royal College of Podiatry representatives contributed speeches and motions on workplace, equality and workforce issues.
Why this matters to members
As both a professional body and a trade union affiliated to the TUC, the Royal College of Podiatry contributes to wider national discussions around employment rights, workplace wellbeing, equality and NHS workforce policy.
Participation in TUC committees, conferences and Congress allows podiatry issues and allied health professional perspectives to be represented within the wider trade union movement.
It also helps ensure issues affecting podiatrists, including workplace conditions, disability inclusion, wellbeing and professional development, are reflected in national policy discussions and campaigns.
What happens next
Both Diana Scott-Brown and Marie Laurent will begin their terms through ongoing committee and General Council meetings during 2026 and 2027.
The College is expected to continue contributing motions, speeches and policy discussions through future TUC conferences and events.
