Have your say on the future of allied health professions in England

NHS England is seeking views on a new professional framework that will set out a long-term vision for the 14 allied health professions in England.

People

The Office of the Chief Allied Health Professions Officer (CAHPO) is developing a new professional framework for allied health professions (AHPs) in England.

The framework will set out a long-term vision for the 14 registered allied health professions and reflect their role within the wider health and care system.

It will also align with national policy and wider NHS priorities.

Have your say

The Office of the CAHPO is inviting views from:

  • allied health professionals

  • health, care and scientific professionals

  • patients and service users

  • carers

  • members of the public.

An online survey asks for views across six themes:

  1. providing safe, high-quality and accessible services

  2. keeping people healthy

  3. people and the AHP workforce

  4. working differently

  5. research, improvement and innovation

  6. data, digital and technology.

You can respond to all six themes or only those that are relevant or of interest to you.

People completing the survey can also provide information about their role and demographic characteristics. These questions are optional.

Why this matters to members

The new framework will help set the long-term vision for allied health professions in England, including podiatry.

The consultation gives podiatrists an opportunity to contribute directly to its development and ensure the needs and experiences of the profession are represented.

What happens next

The survey is open until Friday 18 September.

Responses are anonymous and information collected through the survey will be handled in accordance with NHS England's privacy notice.
